I'm adding both mastered and unmastered versions, as I like both.
Performed live at Hackney Road Studios, London on 10th February 2016 in front of a small audience.
Special thanks go to Steve and Roi, as well as Sophie, who put in a lot of love and dedication in preparation of this live recording. It's been a labour of love and I am grateful for their friendship and support.
This is a warts'n all recording. I hope you like it.
The classic Four Ambient Tales recording receives a fresh and long awaited interpretation in a stripped down form. Released initially in 1993 by R&S Records, it became an instant classic, not only of the genre, but in electronic music in general. Billie Ray Martin was the first artist to bring pedal steel guitar to electronic music. While on the original version the famous BJ Cole played the steel, here we have Pedal Steel meistro Steve Honest adding respectful and almost laid back steel. Roi Robertson adds minimal and heart felt piano.
