about

This song is amongst my own top five songs i ever wrote and recorded, both in it's demo form and as a single here. There have been many songs written about Elvis, all taking a different perspective. Most of them are good or great: Walking in Memphis, Advertising Space - great. This is my humble attempt, but i take a different aspect of Elvis here. I write about the time when 'they' wouldn't let him leave and be in peace, they kept him alive so the checks would continue to roll, although he so desparately needed help. These are some fictional thoughts during the last weeks and months of his life.
Here's what the press release said:
Ever wondered what Elvis Presley's final words would sound like over warbling acid sounds..? Your wondering days are over with the release of Billie Ray Martin's single "Dead Again".
"Dead Again" concerns itself with the imaginary last words uttered by the King as he contemplates his fate and comes in three delicious mixesof the old school of aciiiiiiid !!
The dazzling Acid King Mix is pure intergalactic acid warfare with Ms. Martin's luxuriously rich vocals on top of some serious bleep-out artillery. Plus two tough and thumping acid loaded dubs to infiltrate the dance floor-boards with liquid delirium.
Billie Ray Martin has done it again on this effort, getting closer and closer to her famed Electribe 101 roots. It's truly back to business: one of those unmistakeable Billie Ray Martin songs - 'that' voice.. .it only takes one listen to know who's talking (with himselvis)!
